The future is haunting Odd Thomas. The carnival has returned to Pico Mundo, the same one that came the night Odd lost his one true love. In an arcade tent he finds the fortune-telling machine that told him that he and Stormy Llewellyn were destined to be together forever. But when Odd asks it to tell his own fortune, all it gives him is a blank card. Odd dreams of a ghostly Pico Mundo, where evil has triumphed over good.
